Your platform comes with many different features to support investor account operation such as KYC/AML, accreditation, and document collection. You can decide to turn them on or off based on your business needs easily.
To update Account Settings:
- Select Account from the left menu
- Click the Settings Gear
- Use the checkboxes to enable or disable the following options:
Identity Verification
- Enable Know Your Customer (KYC/AML) Check: When on, you can run instant KYC checks on all investors via integrations with Onfido and North Capital
- Please note that a pass-through charge for the checks will be applied

- Enable Document Verification Check: Allows users to upload identification documents (such as driver's license or passport) to be verified
- Require SSN/Tax ID: Users must complete the Social Security Number or Tax ID field prior to running a KYC check
- Show Identity Verification On Sign Up: Users will need to enter their SSN/Tax ID the first time they log
- Enable Full Accreditation Check: If self-accreditation is not sufficient, you can run a full accreditation check on potential investors
- In the case of individuals, they will be required to upload documents such as a W2 or 1099, required to verify their status
- A pass-through charge applies here
Access and Security
- Disallow self-registration: Prevents anyone from registering on your platform
- This essentially means that your platform is entirely invite-only, only accessible by people you add to your CRM

- Require Account Approval: Is less restrictive, as it allows users to register as they would on any other site.
- Before they can continue viewing your offerings, they must be approved by an admin user
- You’ll get an email that an approval is pending, and with a click of a button, can deny or approve them
- Require Account Approval for Invites: Accounts created by admin users or via invite will require approval
- Require Multi-Factor Setup to Login: Investors will be required to set up MFA to access the platform using an authentication app or email
- Require Multi-Factor Setup for Administrators to Login: Admins will be required to set up MFA to access the platform using an authentication app or email
- Allow Non-accredited Investors to Sign Up: While this allows users to enter the platform, you still have the ability to control what offers they’ll be able to see at the offer level
- Allow Issuers to Self-Register Accounts: When signing up, users will be asked if they are investors or issuers
- Disallow modify account after KYC: Prevent users from making any changes to their account information after the KYC check has been completed
- Enable Account Change Requests: Any changes an investor makes will need to be reviewed and approved by an admin
- Allow Investors to Add Bank Payment Method: If you are not using any of the integrated payment providers, you can allow investors to securely store a payment method
