Modified on Mon, May 22, 2023 at 9:25 AM

If you have an existing list of investors, you can bulk import and create multiple accounts easily.

To bulk import, you will need an .xlsx file that includes a minimum of 4 columns:

  • First Name
  • Last Name
  • Email
  • Company Name
    • Required for Institution / Entity and Issuer
    • You can leave this column blank if you are importing Individual accounts, but you will need to keep the column in your sheet

To bulk import new accounts:

  1. Select Accounts from the left menu
  2. Click Add Account
  3. Choose Bulk Import Accounts from the drop-down
  4. Choose the account type:
    • Individual
      • An Individual account is typically created for single investors or two investors investing jointly
    • Institution / Entity
      • An Entity account is usually added for LLCs, Trusts, IRAs, Corporations, etc.
    • Issuer
      • Issuer accounts are associated with the Offers in the platform, and are needed in order to create a new Offer
      • For more details on creating Issuer accounts, click here
  5. Click Add Column
  6. Select any additional columns you would like to include from the drop-down
    • You will see a list of options available by default, but this list is customizable
    • For example, you can import LinkedIn URLs for your users by choosing LinkedIn URL (User)
      • For information on how to add additional options to this drop-down, click here
NOTE: If your spreadsheet contains cells housing multiple values, you will want to be sure to split each value into columns (for example: first name, last name). Additionally, you can separate cell values that you would like to include as a multi-select list using the pipe | delimiter.
  7. Upload an Excel file that includes your user data matching the column layout you have selected in your platform

To bulk update existing accounts:

  1. Select Accounts from the left menu
  2. Click Add Account
  3. Choose Bulk Import Accounts from the drop-down
  4. Customize your columns
  5. Choose one or more of the following options:
    • My spreadsheet includes existing account numbers
      • Select this option if additional users will be added to existing accounts
    • Update fields on existing accounts with a matching primary email
      • Select this option if you are updating accounts or users that have already been added
    • Create new accounts even if the email already exists on an existing account
      • This option is available if users should have more than one account (for example: both an Individual and Entity account should exist)
  6. Upload your Excel file
