Where do my investors upload accreditation documents? (Accounts, Accreditation Status, Accreditation Check)

Modified on Tue, Jul 26, 2022 at 11:38 AM

Investors can upload proof of their accreditation status directly to the platform.  To allow investors to upload files, the full accreditation check must be enabled by the platform administrator.

To enable a full accreditation check, there are two options:

Platform Level:

Using the option to Enable Full Accreditation Check at the platform level will allow investors to upload files directly to their accounts.  This setting will also apply to any offer using the Accreditation step in the Investor Flow.

  1. Select Platform from the left menu
  2. Choose Settings
  3. Click into the Features tab
  4. Click the checkbox to Enable Full Accreditation Check

Offer:

If a full accreditation check is only required on specific offers, the Accreditation step of the Investor Flow can be customized to allow investors to provide documents.

  1. Select Offers from the left menu
  2. Click the offer you would like to update
  3. Select Investor Flow
  4. Use the gear icon to customize the Accreditation step, or Add an investment step and select Accreditation
  5. Click the checkbox to Enable Full Accreditation Check

To upload, investors have two options:

Account

  1. Select My Account  from the top of the page, or by opening the menu under their name in the top right corner
  2. Choose the Accreditation tab
  3. Select the relevant accreditation status
  4. Upload supporting documents

Offer

  1. Click Offerings from the top of the page
  2. Select any offer
  3. Enter an investment amount and begin the Investor Flow
  4. On the Accreditation step, select the relevant status
  5. Upload supporting documents

NOTE: The full accreditation check will run automatically when payment is sent via ACH or Credit Card if your offer is using North Capital.

If the investor is submitting payment via check or wire, or the offer is not using North Capital, the full accreditation check can be initiated manually from the investor account, or from the Transactions page.

The pass-through fee will not be charged until the check is run.

UPDATE: Per SEC's updated definition of Accredited Investor, a new Accredited Investor category has been added as of 12/17/2020.
